The Department of Commerce was started in the college in the session 2014-15 with a total of 60 seats. Today 180 seats are allotted in the first year in the department. The student strength in the department is around 350.
A student council is formed every year in the Department of Commerce for the development of students. And under this council, many competitions such as essays, posters, debates, and extempore speeches, etc. are organized and the personality and intellectual development of the students are done by the faculties. There are four faculties in the department.
The responsibility of the Head of the Department is being performed by Prof. Jyoti Khare. Apart from this, a permanent faculty Prof. G.C. Dangwal and guest faculties, Mrs. Rashmi Nautiyal and Ms. Manisha Sangwan are working in the department. With the cooperation of all, subject-related and employment-oriented lectures, campus visits, webinars, seminars, workshops, etc. are organized in the department from time to time, along with all the professors themselves are always updated with new knowledge and innovation and are also engaged in continuous research work. So far, 25 research papers by Prof. Jyoti Khare and 20 research papers by Prof. G.C. Dangwal in the department and many research papers by other faculties have been published in national/international journals and in reference books and about 40 workshops/seminars/webinars/ conferences have been participated by presenting his research papers. Two reference books have also been published by Professor Jyoti Khare. And the department has signed two MoUs with other educational institutions so that students can get exposure and take advantage of other courses.
The department is constantly looking forward to providing efficient guidance and knowledge enhancement to the students.
